Forum 4. The Beginnings of Human Culture Thread 1. Human biological classification
Q To what biological order do human beings belong? What other kinds of animals belong to this order? What are the characteristics of our closest relatives within this order?
Human beings belong to the biological order of Primates. There is the presence of large brains in primates (Kipke, 2020). The behavior of primates is generally complicated in nature (Kipke, 2020). There is the presence of prehensile body parts in primates like tail, feet, hands, etc. to ensure that things can be grasped whenever wanted (Kipke, 2020). The characteristics of a mammal are present in human beings. Other kinds of animals belonging to the order of Primates are apes, monkeys, baboons, lemurs, tarsiers, lorises, etc. (Kipke, 2020).
